Junior Interior Designer

The Junior Interior Designer supports the interior design team in conceptualizing, developing, and delivering interior architecture / spatial design projects, from conceptual design phase through to construction documentation and execution. This is an entry-to-early-career position for someone who is eager to learn, contribute creatively, and grow under mentorship.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development of interior design concepts (mood boards, sketches, spatial layout, material palettes).

  • Produce drawings, renderings, 3D models, and presentation materials to communicate design intent.

  • Support preparation of technical documentation: detailed drawings, specifications, joinery / millwork details, finishes, FF&E schedules.

  • Conduct research & precedent studies (materials, finishes, lighting, furniture, etc.) to inform design decisions.

  • Assist in sourcing materials, furniture, fixtures, and coordinating with suppliers & vendors.

  • Participate in site visits, surveys, measuring existing conditions, and assisting with construction administration (e.g. site inspections, monitoring quality and design implementation).

  • Collaborate with internal teams (architecture, engineering, consultants) to ensure design integration and coordination.

  • Revise and update drawings and deliverables based on feedback (client, internal team, regulatory).

  • Assist with project scheduling, filing/document control, maintaining organized digital and physical project documentation.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field.

  • 0-3 years of professional experience in interior design or architectural firms (fresh graduates with strong portfolios are welcome).

  • Strong visual communication skills: sketching, rendering, model-making, mood boards.

  • Proficiency in design and documentation software: e.g. AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3D modelers/renderers, Adobe Creative Suite. Familiarity with Revit is a plus.

  • A good eye for detailing, materials, color, proportion, spatial flow.

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), ability to present ideas internally & to clients.

  • Strong organizational skills: time management, ability to work on multiple tasks / projects, attention to detail.

  • A collaborative mindset; open to feedback; willingness to learn.

Other Details

  • This is a fully onsite, full-time position. WTA places high importance on studio presence for collaboration and learning.

  • The candidate should be willing to undergo mentoring & learning curves, including technical and construction phases.

  • Regular site visits as required.
