Balay Doppoio explores the unique identities of its users – one a French-Filipina who is vibrant yet elegant, and the other a Sammarinese who is thoughtful and just so damn chill. The two unique entities are embodied in Balay Doppio, a fusion of each ones ethnic cultures. The exterior is muted yet sophisticated, it is daring and bold. The color palette of the external skin draws tones from Vernacular Filipino elements. It contrasts starkly with its interiors, one that is vibrant, bold and celebrates the couple’s Italian heritage.

The key spaces flow into the garden, a core component that strings the home together. One enters upon the grand staircase, the interstitial space that is a focal point that connects all spaces vertically and horizontally. The living room is the receiving area where guests look upon the garden. The kitchen is the heart of the home, the hub to accommodate the couple’s love for family meals, hosting and parties. When the house is opened, the key spaces flow seamlessly into the garden, creating one grand space instead of compartmentalized sections.
