It highlights the importance of bringing the outdoors in. The Bulacan Factory Office, also known as the Office for Atlas Nutrition Feeds, is located 27 kilometers north of Manila. Being situated in Bulacan, its architecture takes advantage of the abundant lush green areas and fresher air. The design translates the current spatial needs of the Atlas Nutrition Feeds company. It also prioritizes human access to nature throughout the day. The courtyard plays a significant role in the layout of the structure. It serves as the core circulation path of the building and introduces a dialogue between the building and the ground. The proposed design for Bulacan Factory Office introduces a dynamic point of entry with a shift in the first floor building volume. The entrance becomes both a focal point and a connection between the courtyard and outdoor landscape. The house design initially takes the proportions of a 10 x 10 x 11.60m cube. Four floating walls wrapping the residence creates a more approachable proportion that allows privacy for the interior spaces. The house structure uses rigid lines, sleek edges and continuous linear lighting. The space seeks to take the residents inside a simplified yet futuristic gaming arena contrasted by gray tones, subdued lighting and raw materials to imbibe a cool, neutral atmosphere that is conducive to gaming. The parameters the studio worked with included being able to fit more bedrooms on the top floor as well as integrating a family room on the second floor, making it a focal point of the house. The 4-walls design translates to the family’s need for togetherness. All bedrooms are located on the third floor while all the living spaces are on the first and second floors. The integration of a balcony in the master bedrooms provides the residents a relaxing elevated outdoor space. With the intention of having more friendly proportions, four floating walls were created around the four elevations of the house. These walls scaled the general volume of the house and allowed the interiors some privacy, given that big windows were to be used for this space. Taking these into consideration, the volume of the structure creates a “T” shape with all the bedrooms on the top floor. This “T” shape generates two porches, one in the main façade for the entrance of the house and the other one for the back garden. The interior spaces of the house feature floor-to-ceiling windows that open up to garden spaces.

This means that the building will grow together with the environment it sits in rather that just resting onto it. The City Hall development of Tagaytay prioritizes nature as its design focus while being user-centric. Thus, the designers took consideration of the existing geography and climate that is intimate to the site. Tagaytay, being known for its unique climate in the province of Cavite, motivates the designers to utilize what are present, take full consideration of it, and then optimize architecture to not just retain it, but develop. One of the unique geographical characters of Tagaytay is its topography. Considering several sloping terrains, and a generous number of pine trees, the designers must be mindful of how they should be safely retained. The building design must also address wide window openings to welcome cold breeze, and let the building grow with the nature it lives with. The Angeles Urban Hub is a one stop vertical neighborhood and business center which provides various programs under one roof. The Urban Hub will be divided into three major zones: the Retail Zone, Office Zone and Residential Zone to anchor the structure’s main activities. The retail areas are raised in level and pushed inward to create an ample public space. There are also buffer zones in between that will serve as an amenity space for both the office and residential areas. Featuring breakout spaces, jogging paths, lounges, function rooms, and a swimming pool for recreational use. The idea was to renovate and modernized the existing building, as well as to adapt a new paradigm shift as infill where there was a monotonous building rows within the street. Makati was a city with dominant opens spaces, pocket gardens and grid patterns. The existing façade was developed in line with its function to accommodate more office spaces. One of the major interests of designing is the relationships of a new building to the existing surroundings. The design approach demonstrates the recognized association of the building to its environs, through breaking down the distinct character of the adjacent buildings and the vicinity. The design was divided into two, the bottom part will be representing the micro context (adjacent buildings) and the upper part reflects the macro context (Makati's skyline). The scale and proportion division of the building façade establish a positive dialogue to with the neighboring buildings. They consist of vertical and horizontal direction in which the verticality was represented on the rear part of building while the horizontal was reflected through the adjacent buildings.

William Ti, Jr. for Inquirer.net Date: I’m always impressed by how older drivers could still manage to go around the city without the use of Waze or Google Maps. 2 August 2021 I remember how much stronger the impressions I used to had of our city back when you needed to recognize the corners and roads through which you go. I’ve always felt like this gave me a much better understanding and much more affection for our local communities. There is a certain romance to physical touch and connection that we’ve been losing with our growing digital world and the restrictions we have faced with this quarantine. Awareness leads to discovery and knowledge. The first step towards a better city starts with understanding and knowing more about it. Building a civic consciousness is an effort that also means increasing appreciation and ownership of our public spaces. We must extend our concept of public space beyond our immediate front yards and street fronts, beyond our local barangays and districts, towards our city and country itself. There is a certain wonder to miniature models. From our earliest childhood playsets and toys to the Lilliputian cities of Gulliver’s travels, they capture our imagination and allow us to see and understand more about life. Many of the great cities of the world have scale models for the public to see. They become not just tourist attractions but places where children can visit and learn more about their city. This is probably the most important thing really if we want to have the next generation love and care for our built environment. We must show them from an early age how much bigger the city is. Many who can’t afford to travel at a young age grow up in a capsule unaware of the scope of our human environment. We need every tool that can help them learn. We always mention how context is one of the main drivers of our architecture at WTA. And so we appreciate how most people actually do not understand or know the lay of our land. With that in mind we have started on a whimsical journey over the last year. We’ve been trying to build a model of our city in the hopes of completing this someday and having a place where architects, but more importantly children, can come and see our city. We’ve managed to finish just over 18 sq km of Manila to date, and hopefully, as we push on, we can keep adding to this and have a bigger and better representation of our city to share with everyone.
