Ikebana, the Japanese art of flower arranging, emphasizes form and balance. Its arrangement expresses both purity and simplicity. Moreover, the three main levels symbolize heaven, earth and human kind creating elegant and carefully curated asymmetry. The principle of Ikebana forms the program of the house. The site’s section view shows the vertical access which acts as the main stalk while rooms stem out from it. Asymmetry embodies the room cuts while the appropriate allocation of areas and standards keep it balanced. Strategically placed, pocket gardens create stark contrasts against the geometric and sleek silhouette of the façade within the site. The Ikebana house brings natural elements into the home. Natural light and pockets of private gardens evoke a connection with the environment. An open floor plan creates a connection between the living room, dining room and the kitchen creating an open, bright and spacious ground floor.. Bright and warm tones, a natural look and an appearance that communicates balance and elegance sets the interior of the entire home. 2019 Brick House Enclaves Residence Balay Luce Imperial Era Mansions Zoey Courtyard Residences Baigad Bantayan Villas Chi Residences Chan Residence Morong Farmhouse Cambridge Residences Vivace Parkways Yap Residence Golden Bay Extension Roxas Condominium Cloud Citadel Garden City Yung Green Harbor Bataan Terminal and Convention Center Highlands Condo Residences Cruz Residence Grand Titanic Jinxi Seaview City Corner House Pockets of Nature Pawikan House 4PH Housing Project The Empyrean Tropical Loggia Esperanza Tower Bougainvilla Residence Chinatown Oasis Legazpi Park Terraces Park Royal Ongpin Chateau Lorraine One Six Wilson Gardens Bacoor Bay Hongji Gardens Silhouette Balay Doppio 15 Dancalan Residence High Gardens Supima Sports and Supima Residences Casa Sol Cloudscape Tagaytay Twelve Luxury Flats The Urban Block Upper West Parc Hiribaco Resort C3 Residence Omni Gardens The Crossing Balintawak Cloverleaf Artisan Tower Angeles Urban Hub Riverpark Manila

Architecture must reflect the existing realities on the ground as a strong influence for the development of social infrastructure. Tagpuan examines the densest district in the world, its history and culture through its streetscapes, as a microcosm of the Philippines and a representative urban typology of how to live as Filipinos do in contrast to more common vertical urban growth patterns. Tagpuan, meaning rendezvous or meeting point, is the intersection of Philippine life. The slice of Mata street develops a document of the organic processes and activities of daily Filipino life. The proposal seeks to build two parallel gardens — the Philippine Pavilion at the La Biennale di Venezia and one in the barangay of UP Village — connected through a virtual portal that enables us to show what Filipino gardens are like to the world. This, in turn, shines a light on the need for hyper local community gardens and the lack of available open public spaces in one of the world’s densest and most crowded cities. 'Bakuran at the Biennale' is a recreation of a Filipino garden that allows us to define and share the structure and elements that make it so. It explores the origins and concepts behind what a Filipino garden is and identifies it as a vital space that can be shared with the Filipino diaspora community. It is a showcase of our country's rich tropical heritage and a touchpoint for our countrymen abroad. 'Bakuran sa Bawat Barangay' will feature a pilot project in Barangay UP Village that allows us to catalyze the formation of vital community gardens to strengthen our barangays and promote awareness about nature and public space for the people who need them most. It will highlight the cost effectiveness of these pocket gardens and benefit the benighted communities where some children grow up without ever experiencing what a garden or public space is. It is an exhibit that embraces our social roots and brings in the underprivileged through upliftment. 2023 Museo Del Prado Tiny House The Book Stop 5 The Book Stop 1 The Book Stop 3 The Book Stop 2 The Book Nook Tagpuan Archstoyanie: Nikola's Belvedere The Book Stop 4

It is bounded by Calero Street which connects the downtown plaza of Balanga with the proposed future city center site along Enrique Garcia Sr. Avenue which connects to the provincial highway. The existing terminal structure is currently one of of not the biggest structure in Balanga. It is a 3-storey structure that dwarfs most of the surrounding properties. Current site conditions show a lack of pedestrian-oriented planning and human scale. This mechanical and alien development has created a kind of termination for Balanga’s northward expansion. Priority is given to vehicular traffic and convenience rather than to passenger safety and comfort. This upended organizing principle coupled with the openness of the surrounding landscape has given rise to a noise-polluted and barely walk-able development. The program calls for the development of an integrated central bus and jeepney terminal for Balanga and Bataan. Together with this terminal, a convention center and commercial retail center is to be developed. A 112-room business hotel will also be developed to support these programs. The business hotel can accommodate large functions and events. This allows the city to tap into the huge MICE tourism market. It also supports transient travelers from the terminal and business guests by providing them with convenient and reliable accommodations in Balanga. The commercial retail center is an activity node that provides people with a destination for shopping. It increases time spent and monetizes the foot traffic from the terminal and convention. In order to attract more people and encourage longer stays , a more engaging street front should be presented along with ample desirable public spaces. 2012 Pasig River Esplanade SM Legazpi Grand Terminal Catbalogan Airport Development Antiao Riverwalk Samar Linkages C-6 Elevated Pedestrian Bridge The Riverlane Bulacan Factory Office Pasig Ferry Station Journey by the Bay Lotus Central Terminal

It is formally the area known as Block 4 and considered prime lots of the site as it contains the unobstructed views towards Mayon. The total lot area is 2,710sqm. The allocation previously was for 8 units, however the intent is to increase the unit:lot ratio by creating low rise condo residences. The project is made up of with a series of component units. In total there are five different unit types of four varying areas. This is to rationalize the layouts when considering construction in the future. There will be a combination of 2-bed and 3-bed units with a larger proportion of 2-bedrooms in the development. The units are connected via central access path and several stairways leading up to a maximum of three storeys per block. This is to ensure the development is not too obstructive of the residential plots that are part of the exisiting subdivision. 2024 Zoey Courtyard Residences Cloudscape Tagaytay Brick House Pockets of Nature Yap Residence The Urban Block Roxas Condominium Pawikan House Garden City Casa Sol Corner House Chi Residences 15 Dancalan Residence Golden Bay Extension Angeles Urban Hub Jinxi Seaview City Park Royal Ongpin Vivace Parkways Artisan Tower 4PH Housing Project Yung Green Harbor The Crossing Omni Gardens Tropical Loggia Twelve Luxury Flats Cambridge Residences High Gardens Riverpark Manila Balay Doppio Imperial Era Mansions Bacoor Bay Ikebana House Cruz Residence Morong Farmhouse Bataan Terminal and Convention Center Cloud Citadel The Empyrean Bougainvilla Residence Balay Luce Supima Sports and Supima Residences Chateau Lorraine Balintawak Cloverleaf One Six Wilson Gardens Grand Titanic Baigad Bantayan Villas Silhouette Legazpi Park Terraces Chinatown Oasis Upper West Parc Chan Residence Hiribaco Resort Hongji Gardens Esperanza Tower Enclaves Residence C3 Residence

All Sports Education | Healthcare Hospitality Civic | Culture Office | Commercial | Retail Residential Exhibition | Research Transport | Infrastructure Journey by the Bay_Exterior - Perspective 4.png Journey by the Bay_Exterior - Perspective 2.png Journey by the Bay_Exterior - Perspective 3.png Journey by the Bay Project Information Status Design Location Manila Bay, Philippines Area (development length) 22 km Description “Journey by the Bay” was a MADE 2020 competition entry designed to propose a new approach towards the development of the capital to start a discussion about the future of Manila and Luzon. This proposal is a 22-kmlong bridge between Bataan and Cavite. It develops a backbone of transportation that would be composed of a highway and a High-Speed Train. This would closely connect the different cities around the Bay (Manila, the new Airport, Naic, Corregidor, Balanga, Hermosa and Malolos) with the loop taking only one hour. By creating a direct link between Bataan and Cavite, the highway would be the perfect opportunity to create a bypass connecting the North and the South, while avoiding Manila. The Backbone would accelerate the development of satellite cities and, at the same time, emphasize the polycentric development encouraged by JICA. These cities would be able to host some functions of Manila, attracting BPOs, universities and even government offices. With its functions scattered in the nearby cities, Manila will be able to regenerate itself without compromising its development. This bridge would be the longest in the Philippines with a section of 17 km between Cavite and Corregidor, and a 4km section between Corregidor and Bataan. The bridge is designed to disappear when reaching Corregidor, becoming a tunnel and leaving the surface of the historical island untouched, allowing the creation of a stopover for the High- Speed Train for easy access by the public. The design of the bridge is inspired by the sea, the surrounding mountains and the skyline of Manila the bridge is facing. Each span of the bridge is designed based on the perception of boats that used to link Manila to the rest of the world, transforming the bridge into a fleet of Galleons guarding the Bay. A tower, which is a revisited version of a lighthouse accessible by the public, adds a vertical element to the bridge while emphasizing the historical relationship of the Filipinos to the sea and symbolizing guidance for the years to come. 2016 Pasig River Esplanade SM Legazpi Grand Terminal Catbalogan Airport Development Antiao Riverwalk Samar Linkages C-6 Elevated Pedestrian Bridge The Riverlane Bulacan Factory Office Pasig Ferry Station Lotus Central Terminal Bataan Grand Terminal
