The concept for the Valero One office building intends to divide the building into sections to suit various types of operations, grouping companies with similar functions. A central commercial area will thus provide the building’s tenants convenience for all their basic needs. Part of its overall development goals and strategies, the city of Makati aspires to be a paragon of development not only in terms of sustainability, vibrancy, and inclusiveness but also an inspiring urban environment filled with iconic spaces and structures that is well integrated into the fabric of the city, while preserving and celebrating the distinct characteristics and cultures it embody, and shall remain a multidimensional and cosmopolitan city. This 27-storey building will be the new face in and of Valero Street, Makati City. Surrounded by high-rise buildings with maximized footprints, open ground level experience in the area is deemed as a luxury. With the advantage of being able to connect to the adjacent 7-storey existing structure, provides a more extensive canvas, thus allows the building to expand both vertically and horizontally. This then provides ample area to replicate the exchange that happens in the ground level, enhanced by additional vantage points, views, and elevation. The intense density found on the ground plane has created makeshift adaptation of the streets for commercial use. This shows a lack of viable spaces not just for commerce but also for public recreational use. The development adopts a two-prong approach to the creation of a centrality for the immediate neighborhood. Green Harbor is a collection of verdant public spaces in the red heart of urbanity. The development is planned around those spaces and as such acts as a natural development around these new urban features. These public commercial and open spaces also act as a green and organized buffer zone in the midst of the chaos of the current streetlife. These two approaches create a strong synergy with its immediate vicinity that connects with rather than fencing off the city. The scale of the development dwarfs the surrounding urban fabric. In order to create familiarity and comfort for its users. The fragmentation and softening of the development requires adaptation of existing peculiarities of the site found in the red stones and multiple pitched roof patterns of Pulang Lupa. This respect of scale allows us to create a more connected outgrowth of the vicinity and achieve quicker adoption of this new center and tap into the site's immense vitality.

Since the company’s work policy is remote-first, the designers also aimed to provide a flexible space that’s safe and adaptable for a free-flowing work environment. Efficient space planning is a main focus in designing this office. Creating zones in terms of function and role define each area and give structure on how each space is to be used. Incorporating clever storage solutions while taking into account circulation flow was also observed in creating this design. Gold metal accents along the buffet area serve as effective wayfinding tools so that diners could navigate through the space seamlessly. Asymmetrical shapes and sensuous curves in gold together with marble clad accents add subtle dimension and texture to the overall off-white landscape that make the space seem infinite and spacious. It also serves as a blank canvas on the different types of food that the restaurant serves. Consisting of three towers - one office and two residential with retail spaces, High Gardens provides a community that promotes work, live and play. This development hopes to find the missing link in Parañaque, where residents seek relief from the stresses of city life. Each of the two residential towers is intervened with openings to promote continuous airflow and visual transparencies. The corners are curved to encourage passive cooling and provide breathing spaces. The garden is elevated to the fifth floor to transform the ground floor as a host of desirable retail spaces. By elevating the garden and allocating wider sidewalks,, the complex prioritizes human activity over cars. The public promenade on the ground floor connects the various building programs into a continuous circulation. The design embeds connections at its core. Green spaces function to programmatically connect different building functions and act as sanctuaries to reconnect with oneself amid a busy city.

Playful curves in bright, warm colors are at the forefront of its façade, flaunting a burst of color that breaks the monotonous backdrop of the city. This wall of color is actually the shared service corridor that joins the nursing home and child care facility. It symbolizes the backbone of these two otherwise different buildings --- a set support spaces that fuel the facilities' operations. In appreciation of the unseen efforts of our caregivers and houseparents, the design makes it a point to showcase our unsung heroes by painting them as the beating heart of residential care.
