Bantayan is a small island located northwest of the main archipelago of Cebu province. 

Although said to be named after its role as an island of watchtowers or “Bantayan ng Hari” in the Spanish colonial era, the island now prides in its peaceful lifestyle and hospitality; accepting an average of 136,000 tourists in its port municipality of Santa Fe every year, 87% of which are Filipino.
